Default zero ethenal gas in z400?

hey guys, new to atv's. there is a store near me that sells zero ethenal gas, do you guys think that would be better than regular gas for my quad? its a little more mony a gal but im fine with that if u guys think it will be better in the long run for the motor. my step dad switched to running it in all his small motor stuff. chain saws, rideing mower, weed eater, air compressors ect ect and sense then he says he has had no issues with carb problems ect. of course my z400 is efi not carbed but still. also would running the occasional sea foam or techron treatment be a good idea for preventative matanince in my quad? I know sea foam worked wounders on or rideing mower and has kept our cars running great for years. buty I have no idea about the motors in these quads. what do u guys think?

don't run it in you efi. When i bought my mew cat they specifically told me not to as the machines were not tuned to run the high octane gas and it will run poorly. I ran in in my older machine for a bit and noticed no difference.

Not having corn mixed in with the gas, it will run better than the 10 or 15% mix. Running seafoam through now and then is a good thing to do.

Zrock, I think you're confusing high octane with ethanol. You are correct on the higher octane fuels would not be needed unless he has gone to a higher compression on his motor.

your clear gas is going to be the same octane as super unleaded (90-92 octane)

i think the cheapest pump gas is 85? i dont really consider anything under 94 high octane

my ATV says use 91+ on the cap, but it is carbed

I don't think a carb or efi knows the difference in fuels. They spit out what you give em.
I'd say you can run it w/o problems.
Seafoam is good.

thanks for the replies every one. got stuck today, no cash on hand for gas so I filled her up with my step dads zero ethanol wich im sure is high octain. ran it for about 10-15 min and so far so good, even seems to run a little quitter but that may be placebo effect lol. I know sense he started using zero ethanol gas he says all his stuff runs better, that regular gas eat up his carbs on the lawn mower, chain saw and his old 70's truck. maybe there is something to it. wish me luck

run non eth when ever possible. Smaller engines do not like ethanol blended fuel. It is harder on rubber parts, collects moisture and you need fatter jetting for ethanol fuel vs non ethanol fuel. Ethanol blended fuels do not have the energy non ethanol fuels put out when burnt. The best fuel to run in your z is ethanol free fuel from your local gas station. No need for expensive high octane fuels. Anything you get from a gas station is not high octane fuel.

Corn gas just goes stale faster but is ok if you are constantly riding , but on the last fill up of the season I do not use it and fill up in Canada because we do not subsidized the corn farmers and have gas made from dead dinosaurs not corn.

rgr that guys. Thats just what the mech at my dealer told me the other day, he said to run 92 or 93 oct non ethanol gas when ever posable. luckly there are two gas stations with in 30 min of me that sells it. my quad is EFI not carbed but still i would think it would still has rubber injecters ect. i wish i had the cash to run it in my car lol.
