A few ideas:
1) Only agree to ride in tight woods.
2) Pop one of their plug caps off when they aren't looking.
3) Pinch the vent tube closed on the gas cap
4) If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Short of a huge cash injection you aren't going to beat them in a straight line most likely. Even then a Banshee is capable of so much more than a 4 stroke 400.

What have you done so far?
You can do the following:
intake
exhaust
larger carb
cams
head porting
big-bore
stroke
All of those things will add power, when done correctly. You'll be able to out handle the banshees, but keeping up with them in a straight line is going to be difficult no matter what you do, assuming the banshees are in good running condition. A lot of them are not.

And truthful.
Banshee's are the king of straight line racing and that won't change anytime soon.

like Suzukis....
In that case, an old LT500R QuadRacer would hold its own, or, since
"bikes" are mentioned, a older RM465 or RM500 would blow either away.
Cheap, too.
