Default 05' Suzuki King Quad maintenance ?

Hi Community,

I have an 05' Suzuki King Quad 700 and am looking to do some maintenance to it during hunting season. I am interested in changing out the spark plug(s) along with some other simple things, but I am hoping someone knows of a trick to changing the spark plugs on my machine without removing allot of plastic. Anyone have any helpful tips?

The easiest way to get at the spark plug is to remove the plastic hiding the front of the engine, under the RH front wheelarch. I’m not sure if you need to take the LH one off as well to get at the oil filter (you do on the 400) but they are only held on by about four plastic poppers. Unfortunately Suzuki chose four different types of popper, the most common is the pull the middle bit out and the outside part follows type but, under the wheel arch, at least one is the press the middle bit in type, not too far or the centre part shoots through and gets lost. Some have a 5mm steel screw from the footwell side, squashing a rubber bung, once the screw corrodes these won’t undo and have to be forced out. Recently Suzuki have started using a popper with a plastic screw in centre too.
