well iv had simullar problems tore out the underneath of my foot with the 250r here is what i found out with mine if it is hot and hard starter try giving it gas on the throttle whille kicking it will start much sooner usually third crank if cold well lift the choke and dont give gas just repeat if it stalls . besides mechanically speaking have your plug chequed the compression and carb adjustement all things that can down that oh and chequ your magneto make sure it sparks properlyhope this helps

Park at the top of a hill so you can pop start it? Trade it for a Banshee? I know the 250's all seem to have their own little quirks for starting, but usually just a tiny bit of throttle helped spin mine up. Little time on the 500, but she does exact a price for all that power!

the one i had was usually easy to start, but anyway try rocking it back and forth in 2nd gear and try full choke no throttle.

Very simple I kick mine over a few times then take it to TDC make sure kick starter is all the way foward and kick. This works at least 90% of the time but each quad can be different take the time to learn which is best for yours.
