I just picked this new quad today

its been sitting for 3 yrs and it sat due to something with notgetting fuel

so i got it home
cleaned the fuel tank out
new spark plug, has proper fire
fuel pump is working, as fuel is getting to the carb so im sure its working
cleaned the carb pretty good

the this type of choke is way diffrent than anything i have seen
so i dont know if it working as it should

the deep comp is working ( im sure )
the comp seems pretty strong and i will check it when i can find the comp gauge

other than that i cant seem to get it to pop yet

im headed back out to the shop and try some more

im sure im missing something
all elect is working all switches are working
but im stumped as to why it wont start up
other than the comp but it seems to be pretty strong at least around 125 or so any less and i would have to replace rings and piston

 

well been out in the shop

and figuared i would try and pull start it behind my 3 wheeler and boy it will start
but keeping it running seems to be a problem

im headed back out and try again this time instead of rideing it for a bit i will run it back to the shop and mess with it while its running and see if there is any adjustment i can do on the throttle

 

does any one know if the starter is thermally protected

 

well the starter is not fried

but i think that the coil is failing

i tryied starting it all day today but it just wouldnt run
i check to see if the spark plug was still working
it seems that it is failing

when i hit the starter it just fires once
i tested it in the 3 wheeler and it seems to work
the coil on the 3 wheeler will not swap due to the connections both large on the quad it is small and large

so i think i will get a new one
i also need to check a cowasocke that is sitting at a friends and see if it will swap
