Default 4x4/4x2 toggle switch is CHEAP!

Anybody here ever had thier 4x4/4x2 toggle switch break on thier EIGER or anyother Suzuki? Mine on my Eiger broke inside (the little piece that actually pulls on the cable) It just seems like It's kinda cheap inside. Anybody's ever break?

Yup, mine went out several years ago - defaulted to full time 4wd. The piece may be cheap but the part is not - just under $90 IIRC. You have to replace the entire mechanism, not just the cam. At least the replacement cam is made of metal, not plastic.

I think the original part on my Eiger broke around 800 to 1,000 miles. It has 3,500 on it now with no problems fromthe replacement.

Jaybee - Where did you buy the piece? What is '$90 IIRC' ???IIRC??? Thanks I have yet to get a switch i couldnt find one under 120.00 - I pulled the cable and put a cable stop on the end and now it's stuck in 2wd. I'm thinking about droping it and running 4wd all time for now atleast during hunting season.

Bought it from local Suzuki dealer parts department. It's been several years since mine broke so the price could have gone up to $120 by now.

IIRC = Typing shorthand = "If I Recall Correctly"

If the lever breaks, it will normally default to 4WD operation. Or, if you keep tension on it as you have done, it will stay in 2WD. I ran mine in 4WD until I got it replaced.
