2007 450 King Quad Died : (
Hi there,
Having a very bad day today. I was out doing yard work with my quad today when it just suddenly died.
I can cycle the key and get the dash to power up eventually, however as soon as I touch a brake, power the winch, or hit the starter everything dies including the dash. The neutral light will turn on momentarily when the ignition is 1st turned off. Then I cycle the key on and off and eventually I can get power to the dash again. The fuel pump does not trip on though (it actually did the 1st time I did manage to get power to the dash, but I heard a snapping noise when I hit the starter and it died).
At the bottom of the dash it does say "chec", but I can't seem to get the ECE to trip into diagonstic mode using a paperclip. I can put power to the winch by bypassing the relay under the seat even with the ignition turned off.
Any thoughts. The relays are pretty pricey so any advise on how to diagnose the problem would be greatly appreciated!!! I will say that the bike got worked in reverse pretty hard yesterday as I was trying to back my enclosed traielr with 2 sleds into place. The power limiter kept kicking in - wonder if this might have caused a problem.
I suppose one good thing is that it happened in my yard and not on the trail.
