Default King Quad 700 4X4 switch doesn't stay "in".

2005 KQ 700. The 4X4 button won't stay in and therefore does not engae 4X4.
Is it as simple as a fuse? Or what?

Yes. Then it goes out when you start moving. Also, you can hold the button in, activate the diff lock, and IT is engaged! But the 4X4 button won't stay in by itself.

It seems to me that the hold for the switch button is broke. I wuold check ebay for a switch from a parted out Kingquad and just put a new switch on it. If the push button holds itself in, then I would say you should be fine. Good luck and happy riding!

tHAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT. I'm going to the car wash today (mud covered) and check wiring around the actuator/etc.
bUT WHERE DO i GET a 2WD/4WD/DIFF LOCK selection switch for king quad?
Is that a dealer item only? Can't Google one up so far.

On my Kodiak 400 I had the same issue. I am not sure if the switches are similar, but I ended up taking the cover off from around the button and found a small amount of mud inside. I cleaned the mud out and the switch worked fine again.
