Question LT230 Motor seal Question

Hi lads,

I have the Piston, rings, top end moreless all the top end removed... I see that one of the O Rings or seals are leaking at the Shift rod location...

Do I have to Split the case to remove and replace that seal with a New one? Or can I get away with picking it out and slipping in a new seal?

As I plan to part with the lt230 ,But I want to fix all I can so the new owner of it won't have to invest cash or time....

As not many want to have a machine to work on and on right off the bat...

Thanks Scottie_The_Boy

It looks like you would have to take off the magneto side cover to get the seal to come out.
