Default 03 Eiger vs 07 Eiger-both 4x4's

Hypothetical situation - You are in the market for a new (used) 4 wheeler and you have the opportunity to buy either a 2003 Eiger 400 with less than 400 miles or a 2007 Eiger with over 2000 miles which would you rather have? Both are in great condition. The '03 is lots cleaner. But the '07 is still very clean. Both have been very well maintained, were owned by 'older' individuals and kept inside out of the weather.

I want to make the best decision-

Which would you rather have? age or miles?

What's the big difference between the '03 & '07? Is there any performance difference??

Any input would be great. Price is not the issue. oh yea both are manuals -

Here is my take. the '07 will have more maint.-- parts wearing out. Also the front and back racks are smaller on the '07 (I beleive). The engine and frame are the same, so no performance difference that I know of.

If I was going to be using it a lot, putting a lot of miles on it then I would go for the '03. If not much miles then '07. (Like 500 Miles per year is no much since you could do this on a week vacation on it.)

Also think about how long you plan or might keep it.

The only maint. problem that I know of, on several '02,'03,'04 Models the flywheel magnets have come lose. The flywheel is $300-400. So costly. But this could be only on the Auto's not sure if it is a problem on the manual model.
Also not sure if there is any changes within the manual model, mine (2) or auto's.

BTW: 2000 miles is not a lot on an Eiger.

You don't mention any price difference. Even with the extra miles, the '07 should be worth more. This is especially true if you think you'll be reselling somewhere down the road.

Performance wise they are identical.

I'd base it on price. If the price is the same I'd be inclined to go with the new model year. Because of the mileage difference, once the '03 gets to $500 or more less than the '07, then I'd go for the '03.
