The KQ400 is the Suzuki Eiger chasis & powertrain with King Quad bodywork (as of 2008). Essentially, it has been in production for something like eight-to ten years. Eigers are known for their durability-the engine is a simple 376cc air/oil cooled unit, and is carb'd. Easy maintenance, repair, and modification. Lots of aftermarket parts and accessories. Mine hauls my 200+lb's around quite nicely, and plows heavy, wet, "Cascade Concrete" snow.
The rear suspension uses a simple two shocks/straight axle system. IRS rear will give a better ride quality and trail handling in uneven terrain, but at the expense of higher cost and complexity.
Plenty of power, and top speed is around 50mph.
As a KQ400 owner, I might be a little biased...lol
