Simple question on a '03 ltz400 - ATVConnection.com ATV Enthusiast Community

Can someone please tell me what size the nuts are that hold on the rear hubs? I need to remove them since someone decided to use tapperd lug nuts on non-tapperd ITP wheels. I'm trying to get by with only buying one socket as I know I dont have that size. Thanks!

17mm, the wheel lugs are 17 front and back

Im sorry, I actually need to know what size the nut is that holds the hub on the axle. thanks though.

they come off very easy just take the wheel off and use an adjustable wrench you dont need a socket for that unless your really going for the real exact 72.5Lb-ft its suppossed to be. Misunderstood whoops

The problem is that the guy that had the quad before me used the stock taperd lug nuts on these itp rims which are not taperd. That in turn, crushed the aluminum around the threads on the studs and now I cant get the rims off. So now what i need to do is take the wheel off, hub and all and beat the hubs out of the rims and see whats left when all of that is done. hopefully i can clean up the threads and re-use everything. This is why I have to use a socket. thanks again.

my freind did that last time we went to pismo with his paddles we lucked out using a 4x 4 acroos the back of wheel and beat it with a sledge the wheel lugs didnt get hurt eather best of luck

Well, I thought I would give you all an update.... The nut was actually a 30mm. The good news is that I was able to pound the hubs out of the rims with a block of wood and a sledge once I took them off the axle. Rims came out lookin nice as did the studs. Bad news is I have a bent axle. Thats the reason this whole process started. I had a wheel that was wobbeling a little, so I wanted to swap them around to see if it was the wheel and or hub or the axle. Oh well, it sucks but I guess I have lots of winter to replace. What do you guys think of G-force?
