ok, mine looks exactly like that (cam pic). But when you rotate it, the "U" on the cam is also directly beneath it, like when you rotate it the cam is exactly upside down, its hard to explain. Ill take a pic. So does this mean my timing is on? Because those little hash mark lines stay level with the head....

I went back and got directly on......But when i reset the timing, i made the two hash marks level and put that "U" on the cam down, not up like in lt230smans pic
just a thought, but a 4 cycle engine should run perfectly if its exactly 180 degrees out of time as long as it has a spark discharge on every rotation, no?

just realized. My timing is 180 degrees off. Because i flipped the timing thinking i had it upside down and thats why i had no spark. But i went through the harness with that wiring diagram and found my constant power wire unplugged. Had strong spark after. Ill go flip it back.
YEAH!!!!!!!
If this is it ill be very proud that i almost figured this out myself lol

It still matters. If the cam is installed 180 degress out, it wont run.

Got it running. The power connector thing from the alternator was all dirty, so some wd40 came in handy. Fired right up.
But......it backfires and the choke does nothing.
Backfiring is ignition timing or its running lean right? Im running a uni filter straight off the carb. But i didnt go up on the main jet. I think it still has the stock jet even though it was bored and the filter is being ran.
Could that be it?
Thanks guys!
