Was told by a guy that I got some parts off of that I could eliminate the piston washers by putting an 83*87 yz250 piston kit (rings c clips wrist pin and wrist pin barring) the bore of the yz is 68.00mm the lt is 67.00mm so I don’t know if it would work but ftz racing uses a yz piston in some of there lt250r kits hears the link http://www.ftzracing.com/images/AtvPorting.pdf ? let me know whatu guys think or is there another solution to the piston washer problem on the lt250r s
That’s what the mechanic at the bike shop said but when I asked how many he had seen go bad he said abut 50 out of 80 that he had worked on and 6 were don with no chance of repair so I think when I do my next top end I’m gona put a yz piston in. with my luck ill be #7. But how far will it have to be bored out if I do
well i know quite alot of people with lt's with yz pistons in them, and they seem to work fine. so i guess it cant hurt.
in theory, your bore "should" only need to be enlarged 1mm. however, due to different alloys and different manufacturer's specs, it may be slightly more or less. just give the piston to the machinist whos going to be doing the boring, and it should have all the info he needs right on the box. i suggest wiseco by the way...
