Default Engine Noise in LT250

I just picked up a cheap used 250. The dealer said it sounded like the cam chain was loose. It runs ok but has some noise in the top end. Does this sound likely? How hard to change? Is there an adjustment by way of an idler/ And where is ther best place to get the parts. Sorry for the list of questions and thanks for all help. Tony

Not to hard to change...did mine.

Would recommend a service manual.

hey this is an LTF250, right? i just went thru my friends a few days ago... we found that the cam chain tensioner is self-adjusting, so chances are if you got topend noise, you wanna adjust your valves. its very simple, but you really should have a factory service manual, and a good feeler gauge (they run TIGHT clearances)
