Default 85 lt 185 carb questions? Need help!

Just bought some old iron for the kids to learn on and stripped to the frame. I got everything back on it and running but noticed the primer punger leaks through the **** hole while running? I know there is a diaprahm in there is this gone bad or have a pin hole? I think these carbs are unique in there own way but have a lot issues, should I pull that primer assembly and put a quirt of oil on the diaprahm to see if this helps?

any help appreciated, thanks

yea most likely that rubber diaphram is rotted away, unfortunately you cant just replace that rubber piece u gotta get that whole little assembly, what you can do that worked for me for about....a year was take some Permatex The Right Stuff gasket sealer and put a little on your finger and wipe it over the dry areas of the diaphram and it let it dry and it will actually seal it up and it shouldnt leak.
