i am working on a deal to trade my blaster for an lt250r, the zuk is pretty nice. it has the factory plastics still on it and the whole quad looks brand new. the only thing done to it is a pipe and filter
the asking price is $2500, is it worth it, and how much $ should i need to pay with the blaster on trade?
I would suggest you checkout sites like Kellybluebook price on both quads , this should give you a good idea of what the 2 are worth !..........
Update : I just checked Kelly Blue Book and in my area the 2004 Yamaha Blaster fully reconditioned and in excellent condition has a resale value of $1,730.00 , and a 1989 Suzuki LT250R Quadracer in fully reconditioned and in excellent condition is valued at $1,740.00 !........
I'd think it's worth 2500 in good shape. Altho the price on 250R's is way down.
Trade w/blaster..pay him 2800. LMAO

well youre probably looking at an 85 or 86, which has no powervalve, a wacky *** reedcage, and lousy suspension. once you hit 87 and up (with better suspension, and pv, and a standard style reedcage), the value goes way up, and so does aftermarket parts availability.
$2500 is a fairly reasonable asking price, but you should have no problem talking him down to $2200 or so. I guess that would equate to ablout $600 - $1000 with the blaster, depending on what's done to it.
and yes, its ABSOLOUTLEY worth it. they're excellent, reliable bikes that respond very well to modifications and have more aftermarket support than you would expect for an '89. they can be VERY fast too. no problem taking 450's, craptors, and even banshees, with average mods. Handling is very good for the age, stock shocks are showa units with good travel. braking is superior, in standard suzuki fashion, and resists fade very well.
