Cleaned out the carb and it still would not run right better but not right. So I took off the k&n filter and went back to stock running allot better now almost 100%. I can hear the valves though so I think you were right about getting the valves adjusted I need to do that. Now if I can get the rear drum to stop squeaking I will be happy again..

Just a couple thoughts. Have you checked the fuel level? I know this sounds stupid, but I spent 30mins troubleshooting my Eiger after tearing down a carb when it would idle fine until I hit the throttle. As soon as I'd hit the throttle it would die. Turns out I was low in fuel...enough to idle, but not enough to flow fast to the carb. Also, I would check the vent lines to the carb and and fuel tank. (I'm assuming here that your KQ is set up similar to my 06 Eiger) If you suck a seed into one of those vacuum lines, it's slow flow of fuel from the tank or into the carb. I've also heard about the vent line from the carb to under the seat is prone to kinking and causing issues. If all else fails, pop open a cold one and tear the carb down again...check the pilot jet and main carb...you may also want to adjust the fuel/air mixture screw as well...may be a bit lean on idle-1/8 throttle. Last idea I have is the idle...I don't know what temp you are currently at, but I typically have to raise my idle a bit when it is cold until everything is up and running for a while, especially if I'm plowing and have a huge drain on the battery. Hopefully this helps a bit. By the way, nice quad...what size tires did you put on? Also noticed you mentioned a K&N filter...did you mod the main jet and exhaust as well? If not, you may want to bump up the main jet to offset the increased airflow and richen up the mixture. Worst case, if you were running extremely lean from the increased airflow, you may have burnt the valves.

I have the service manual so I just followed the trouble shooting steps and got no where so I took it in.. they think the timing is off so they wanna look at the timing belt or chain to see if it stretched. Its missing pretty bad.. my tires are 27 inch kenda exc. on dwt rattlesnakes.. gonna get snorkel it next just gotta do some more research and see what I need to do to my carb.. I took the k&n off before I took it in I will post what they found today I hope.. the shop has a long wait I just hope to get it back before hunting season is over..

Finally got her fixed.. took it to the dealer everything was under warranty except my breaks squeaking they fixed that too .. The problem was my spark plug they changed it to a hotter plug and she is running great.. I was using 91 octane gas the dealer said to stop using it use 87 or 89 at the highest.. anyway anyone who is having the same problem the plugs they put in the edgers and king quad 400 should be changed to a cr7e you will see a big difference..
