Default 2007 kingquad 450 top speed

I talked to a suzuki shop and he says the stock filter is best. He says about 45 is probbaly about right. he says some more crap and then I say have u ever worked on one of these and he says No. My thoughts are this guy doens't know crap about the 450 king quad. SO this leaves me in same place as before what to do and what to check. I installed the K/N airfilter and no change what so ever the polaris sportsman 400 i rode with last weekend at the dunes is faster then mine (Tested on the hard pack) and can climb the hills easier then mine as will. Spark plug fouling? Spark arrestor baffel? Anyone thing any of these are possible?

Hi Alan, It sounld like that dealer you talked to has his head in up his ASS. Your 450 KQ should walk all over that Polaris. I ride a 700 KQ and last summer I test drove a 450KQ for my wife, it realy impressed me. My wife a 375 AC, I have had it up to alittle over 55mph and I weigh 230. So if that dealer said 45 is right he better bend over grab himself by the ears and pull his head out. You know I'm realy sick and tired of Big Corporate America always screwing the Little Man, it P###ES me off. later Jeff

I have a new 450 KQ that I bought yesterday. It is a 08.It will do 62mph on the HW.45 is just taking it easy. All stock. Can anyone recomend a better dirt with a little loose small rock tire I can put on the rear for seep woods trails? It came new with Dunlop, front looks good due to more narrow size, rear looks more open.
Seems like a nice machine after 30 miles.

I just got an 08 king quad 450 limited about a month ago an have about 50 miles on it and it does about 55 to 60 depending on what your driving across and where your headed.. try clean or just checkin the spark arrestor for carbon i know i removed mine an put a tip on and it made mine have a lot more get up an go after it was removed so just take it out and see if its clogged or has issues i know a friends wheeler had that problem a while back and was sluggish too.
