Yeah, you have a point there but Just because 450cc is what they allow for racing does not necessarily mean that thats the equivilant 2 to 4 stroke power output ratio. 4 stroke technology has really increased and I bet some of the pro racing 4 strokes would give some of the old 2 strokes a run for their money. Maybe not but there sure is something better about 4 strokes now days or some pros might still be riding 250R's.

You gotta love the 2 stroke power output tho. For sure a tuned 250 2 stroke would blow away a tuned 250 4 stroke. Plus you get more power out of a small size, lighter engine. Too bad 4 strokes are really taking over.

 

I'd just love to see a stock Zilla, let alone one that hasn't been abused. They few that own them around here just bag the snazz out of them, it's sad.

It seems like to me that even though we're in 2006 & so much progress has been made, so they say! The Quadzilla 500 is still the king of speed. Also, one quad that wasn't mentioned that for it's size has to be recognized!!!! The Kawasaki Tecate-4. A 250 2-stroke that outran the other 250's!!! I currently have an 01 Raptor & swore to never buy another quad, because of the speed restrictions. Why don't they make quads for people over 21 years of age beats me. Less money to be made IMO. So to all the guys who had/have a chance to ride any/all two-stroke atvs or 3-wheelers of the 80's. You guys had the best of the best. Yeah, your right. The old 250 2 strokes are still dang fast and the zilla is still the king of speed. It has just taken 4 stroke technology this long to catch up. Well, at least narrow the gap.

I dont think they will ever make or even allow a special class of atv's for people 21+ that will do over 75. It would be kinda pointless. I dont think top speed is what sells an atv. People dont just go out and buy an atv because it has the fastest top speed. But then again, I guess some people do...

What would be nice is if they started making street legal quads. It would bring atv to the streets like street bikes have brought motorcycles to the street. Street bikes and dirt bikes are two completely different things but you get the idea. If atv's were ever by a slim chance allowed on the street they would probably extend that 75mph limit.

 

you can make ur atv street legal, with blinkers, mirrors, and brake lights, but i dont think legally they allow it in the USA, maybe some places. it would be nice to fill up at $10 vs $75

 

Yeah, I think that is only in certain states. It would be nice to fill up for $10 tho...haha

 

in Spain they are allowed to ride ATVīs on the streets, was sitting at a bar there once and along came a Raptor....
