MalHombre,
The stage 2 has very impressive tourq. It pulls strong all the way up.
You may or may not know this but, at one time, there were 3 grinds avalible for the 230.
The stage 3 was a full on race cam. It was/is not recomended for the trail at all. Power came on HARD at high RPM. It requires the motor be highly modified.
The stage 1 is a very good " all around" cam for the trail where the extra torq helps the little motor hang with the larger bore machines. And it works well with the stock springs.
The stage 2 is a happy medium. Very strong on the trail with moddest upgrades but really shines when a over bore, larger carb, pipe and free flowing filter is added. The valve springs are recomended for this grind however.

Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

I have owned my 230 for a little over a year now. I worked on it all last year and get it all together about a month ago. I will try to get some pics up of it soon. I wrecked it perty hard last weekend. It rolled six times. broke the clutch perch, bent the bars, and broke my custom headlights. Also scratched my new plastic perty bad. As soon as I get some pics I will load them up. I have spent a mini fortune on this and I still need a new exhaust.

Got a few pics of my 230 uploaded. It really needs an exhaust. What does everyone think is the best bang for the buck.

Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

I just picked up a 87 230s. It still does not run or start. And I don't know why... What would an engine rebuild cost me w/ a big bore kit? Any good sites where i could gather info?? I have done numerous searches on here but always turn out to be the same "how fast can my 230 go?"

No REAL info. I was thinking of getting the Vince's carb. But that WB carb kit seems nice. BigMc where did you order yours from? And if you don't mind me asking how much did it run you?

MalHombre your 230 is insane! Wow. That's what I want mine to be...

Anyone know of any good reputable engine builders in the Northeast? Thanks!!!!

I found this place. http://www.fourstroketech.net/ I was thinking of getting the 273 kit as it costs the same as the 265. Any drawbacks to this? What else would have to be done to get it working properly? Carb? Anything internally? Clutch? Thanks.

My dad bought an 86 LT230S brand new in august of 85. He took care of it and rode it completeley stock for 15 years. I started riding it somewhere around 01 or 02 just after we put 18 inch flat tracks on it for a little bit but we might have overrevved it a bit. We had J&W Cycles in Washington MO, rebuild the engine after it sat for almost 2 years and we made it mechanically sound again after being stock for 20 years. During the time the QuadSport was out of commission my dad bought a 00 Warrior and now both are running great. The Warrior may have more power, but nothing beats a classic Suzuki that has been in the family for almost 21 years.
