Default NEWBI with LT250 ?'s

Guys hope all is well.

First off I would like to thank all of you for all the great info I have found here thus far. However I am having have some trouble searching out the information I require..

I just recently purchased an 88 250 quadracer from a buddy of mine. It is in very good condition, and the motor has been rebuilt within the last year. However this is still stock. I want to make this into a good trail quad and dune runner.

I haven't been able to find much info on the web as far as hop ups are concerned, so there is where I need your help. I understand the frames are not the best on these. I am a big guy 5'10 260 LB. is there something I can do to help this issue?

I also figure longer A-arms and axle are a good idea. My buddy upgraded the front shocks to works shocks, but the rear is still stock.

Lastly, I would like to do some motor mods. Maybe a big bore kit and some porting and polishing. Can any of you recommend a place to get these done? Money is an issue, however not a huge one... So, please share any and all info...

Any information you feel I missed please feel free to add your 2 cents. I look forward to the summer, when I have a chance to possibly meet some of you!

Thanks!
Austin

Not to steel your post, but I am a newbie LT250 owner as well and have a couple questions that may be appliable too.

1. What is the best size rear tires to run for trail riding? Stay with the stock 22x11x10? I am assuming I have stock sprockets as well.
2. Front shocks look pretty sad, what are economical replacement options?

Thanks
Brad

works is definately the cheapest, but u get what u pay for. eric gorr of forward motion ported, did a head mod, and bored my cylinder really cheap, at least compared to the big boys. check him out for a deal.

What are you guys running for rear tires? I may get new rims and tires. What's best?
This is for recreation and not racing. Stay with 22x11x10?
Same goes for the shocks. Probably be happy with stock replacements if I can get them.

I had 18 trekkers on my LT and it sucked for trail riding. The skid plate would take a beating 'cause it was so close to the ground. They also had alot less traction than the bandits I'm running now.

i have had an lt250r for about a month and have beaten many of the 400 and some banshees. there is also 1500 bucks into the engine but definantly stick to the 22's or else the swing arm wil probably hit the ground alot
