Default How do you do a rooster tail?

I have seen it done, but I don't know how they do it? I've tried but I never even get close.
I hope rooster tail is a term everyone knows, and if you don't its when you ride your ATV on just
one back wheel.

Coming out of a hard sliding corner,,,,it is a great way to get traction.

If you brake hard(front) while entering a corner,,,,your inside rear tire will naturally come off the ground as only one side of your front suspension compresses during the turn. So usually that tire will be the only one able to get traction coming out of the corner.

As far as how to do it,,,its a matter of shifting body weight,,,and getting the weight on the proper foot along with good throttle/brake control.

A tire with good bite is important too.

OH yeah!

When I hear 'roostertail' I think of a hydro boat(prop spray), a jetski blast, or a huge sand roost at the dunes
