Default Predator popping.

I HAVE MODIFIED MY AIR BOX, 2 X 3 HOLE IN BACK AND REMOVED THE SNORKLE. THE OUTEWEAR WORKS GREAT AND THIS HELPS OUT QUITE A BIT. 2 TO 3 HORSE'S ACCORDING TO RATH. YOU MAY HAVE TO DO SOME MORE JETTING DEPENDING ON YOUR ELEVATION AND TEMP THERE IN YOUR AREA. HERE IN NORTH ALABAMA WE ARE AT 800FT ELEVATION AND TEMPS IN THE 30 TO 40 DEGREE RANGE. JETIING IS 165 MAIN, PILOT 50, AND CLIP IN THE FOURTH POSITION WITH 10 DISC IN THE WHITE BROS PIPE. NO POPPING OFF IDLE TO THE REV LIMITER. BUT SO MUCH FOR THE PRED. NOT LAUNCHING THE FRONT WHEELS ANY MORE. YOU ROLL ON THE THROTTLE ANYWHERE IN 1 THRU THIRD GEAR, THE WHEELS ARE COMING UP. ALSO RUNNING 14/38 SPROCKETS.

Default Predator popping.

G'day guys. The doc changed the jet to a 152.5. Rev limiter cuts in on mine & 8850 rpm. I'm running w/b with 9 discs, 96 octane, 100 feet elevation, avg 80 degrees. Its fun in the sun. Taking it to the mx track tomorrow, I'II report back. Thanks from down under. Geoff.

Default Predator popping.

G'day guys.
set up now is 172.5 main, stock pilot, w/b 9 discs end plate, K&N, airforce kit. 96 octane, sea level.
Still pops its head off at 6000-8000rpm.
Put the stock can on and the this girl screams all the way to 9000 rpm no popping, just acceleration slows.

Couple of thoughts I need help on please.
Could a different plug help?
Could Aaen's exhaust help?
Any other suggestions?

I've tried another preds cdi from same build date, same problems.
I'm testing the vortex cdi in 2 weeks.

Thanks for your help, Geoff.

Aussie, have you double checked your float level. Thats critical for the Airforce kit, did you drill out the slide? If all that checks out, i would start looking at the fuel delivery system, make sure the petcock is free of trash, check the fuel pump, fuel lines for any restrictions. now that you ruled out the CDI, it sounds like you are running out of fuel. Your jet may be the right size, but there has to be volume of fuel there also.

Aussie:

Take it from me...quit struggling with this and take your Predator back for a full refund.

I tried everything ever thought of. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will get rid of the popping.

Even with the stock can, it will pop. You just cannot hear or feel it as well.

Do what I did...get your money back before any more time passes.

By the way...I love my new Raptors!

Rob

Hey Aussie,
Sorry to hear about your frustrations. Not to sound bias or anything, but as a suggestion, check out HMF Website and see their website. They show some good numbers with stock airbox and 155 jet. Drop them an email, or give them a call, they seem very friendly and wanting to answer your quesitons. I emailed them and they told me they had sold 500 predator silencer units and have only positive comments about the performance gains and performance! Just a suggestion.
