Default Bent Chrome rim with Rawhide?

I ride 99% on dirt so I never noticed until today a wobble in my left rear wheel when I drove it on a blacktop road. Has anyone had bent rear problems with the Polaris Chrome wheels?

Do Rawhides run funnny on pavement?

I switched wheels with my other Sportsman with Tracker Ps and did not notice the wobble. I wonder if the tire or rim is giving me this drivability problem??

Anyone have similar wheel trouble?

The machine has a total of 175 miles.

I had mine on pavement and no wobble but mine has a lot of weights to balance them, does yours have weights? If not that is probably your problem. I also have a dent in one front rim from hittting a rock and it did not affect it at all.

Chech for out-of-round, I had that problem with my HO which the dealer replaced under warranty.

hey my 03 sp700 has 87 miles on it, and i noticed it shakes on pavement i figured its the heavy rawhides and chrome rims, works great in the mud so i guess i can live with it.

Yea you have a good point about working well in the mud. 99.9% of my riding is offf-road where it is not noticable. The Rawhides are excellent all-around tires. I went mudding a few weeks ago and easily cruised through a set of ruts where a Honda 450 got stuck with 26" vampires. There is no substitution for ground clearance and TRUE four wheel drive (Honda has a limited slip front end).

A friend thought his factory rims were bent because they had a slight wobble to them. He bought a set of the black/chrome ITP rims and had the same wobble. Turned out the tires were the culprit. Not seated right, out of round, I don't what it was. He learned to live with it. It was only noticeable in the seat when on smooth asphalt.

hey Weedy,
haven't tried mine at high speeds yet.
i have a question for you. do your lug nuts have thread-lock on them from the factory? my 700 with chrome wheels does.
if so, when you re-install your wheel are you using more thread lock? is it necessary to use it each time?
