w/ out knowing the extent of the damage to them there is no way of telling until you get to see them. if not to bad then i would say just to re tap them out might do just fine. cross your fingers and hope.

i would strip the clutch of all the parts if possiable. its just the back(toward the engine) sheeve that would have to be cut as the clutch is on a tappered crank shaft and only about 1" or so is holding it on.

the driven(secondary) clutch is the large one connected to the trannsmission and only has a center bolt that holds it on and you could hold the brake while in gear to hold that clutch from spinning. the primary(drive) clutch you already have the center bolt out so no worry of holding that clutch for the 6 small ouside bolt that holds the cover on.

3/4 inch bolt worked great for me couple years ago. I needed to get the clutch off on a Saturday afternoon and i knew the only Polaris dealer close to me was an hour away and it was time for them to close. I called the owner and he told me to use the 3/4 bolt, it would work fine, and it did.

if you read the whole thread you'll see he sort of tried that w/ a piece of metal in the middle behind the threaded bolt and ended up bending the metal inside and now the metal is stuck inside. as far as the 6 bolts, yes its under a little spring pressure, but not very much as you can easiely hold it w/ your hand. take out all of them except 1 each on 2 sides of the spider and then remove them both some waht evenly so it comes off smoothly and not at an angle.
