1992 Polaris 350L 2x4 wont start and I am stumped
1992 Polaris 350L 2 stroke 2x4
New Battery
Fresh Gas
Fresh 2 stroke oil
New Spark plug
Someone I know bought this thing for a couple hundred a few weeks ago and brought it to me to get running. The individual he got it from said it sat for a year & they had it fire once or twice before he bought it.. Personally I really have a hard time believing that. The quad wont start and I keep coming up to dead ends. I have downloaded a free PDF repair manual for it. I always start with the easy and cheap things first, spark. I am getting spark, the gap is correct on the spark plug. I cleaned out the carb. I have compression. I have tried pouring a small amount of pre mix down into the cylinder no luck with that, I have tried starting fluid and once again still nothing. I should have at least had a pop or backfire with the starting fluid. I appreciate any feedback

If compression is at least 115psi or more, but it won't crank even with starting fluid, probably the crank seals are shot. Usually the one behind the drive clutch is the worst offender. Items #4(2 seals) and #7 on the parts break down.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse You can have fairly good top end compression, but if the crank case seals are leaking it can't compress the gas, air, oil mixture and shoot it up the transfer ports for ignition.
Plus there are several videos on youtube on how a 2 stroke works.
