U-Joint play?
#2
In a perfect world I'd like to say no,shouldn't be a bit of play, but seems like even fairly new machines after they get a few miles on them may have a little. That's what the u joints are there for,to take the shock from the rest of the system. If you can twist each end of the shaft and visibly see and feel a lot of movement, then might be time to replace the u joint. A little play isn't going to hurt as it's to be expected. When they make racket and click clack, time to replace them or the shaft assembly.Same goes for cv joints on your model. They do the same thing.http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...08&fveh=169085

Thanks again guys. After taking a better look at the u-joint it is the freeplay in the spline to yoke that most of the play is in actually very little in the u-joint it's self.
