Trail Boss didn't have a front rack or low range. Other than decals this is the main difference. Seats, plastic interchange.

I made this video a while ago to try on show how it was shutting off on idle but It would not do it. Now right now it idles too high and Ive adjusted the screws and the throttle cable but still too fast. (not in the video)

Check the throttle slack. If too tight can idle high. Have 1/8" slack at the thumb lever. If still idles high, loosen the 10mm nut on the cable adjuster at the carb cap and turn the adjuster in to lower the idle.If it doesn't help, then the slide could be sticking a little. Plus put the air box on first so you do adjust it more accurately. The air fuel mixture screw should be roughly 1 1/2 to 2 turn out.

You can,but it will still be a little leaner than if you have the original type air box.Use a foam type air filter if you don't plan on using an air box and keep it clean and oiled.

Well I ended up running a rubber pipe from the carb to an airfilter. I did not use a foam one (didint remember you suggested it) but ill probably put a foam pre filter over it.
