Welcome to the forum! Pull the tire, brake caliper, tie rod end to the strut, remove the a-arm nut and lower a-arm out of the way. The strut can be pulled out a little and the cv assy can be flexed enough to pull it out of the strut(a friend comes in handy) then you can work on the cv or pull the entire shaft out! Hope this helps. Installation is just reversed! OPT

I have it disassembled but the shaft will not slide out. My repair manual says there is a pin that has to be taken out, but i have checked the shaft and there is not a pin anywhere to be found. So do you just have to hammer this out??

The shaft is held in place in the gear case with a circlip and just jerk HARD and the shaft will come out. OPT

Don,t believe everything you read. My Manual said I needed to remove both clutches to remove a starter and remove my front rack, fenders, bumper and rad to remove a rad fan.

Both turned out to be wrong.

Once you get it out coat the axle splines with neverseeze before putting it back together. Will make the job much easier the next time it needs to come apart.

Default cv axle-- warning

be sure to NOT pry the axle out with a screwdriver between the front diff and the cv joint-- it will damage the oil seal on the front diff.
