Rpm ? for sportsman 800
Hi all I have a sportsman 800 was wondering what is the most common rpm is at idle, I am looking at 1170 or so give or take 10 rpm, what is everyone else looking at? It dont say idle speeds in the manual. My AC V-2 with the kawi twin idles around that rpm is that normal for the polaris also. Thanks Doug

If your wheeler is pretty hard to shift, your clutch maybe out of alignment. My new 500efi was pretty hard to shift and they did a clutch alignment and it shifts as smooth as silk. When I owned my 700efi it was hard to shift and found that I had a broken motor mount. I fixed that and it shifted perfect. I would keep an eye on it and if it keeps shifting hard or creeping then I would take it too the dealer.

Sdbowhunter, I will keep an eye on it some times it does creep forward but not that much only once in a blue moon, I was thinking it may loosen up when i get some more miles on it. But if not I will take it back to the dealer. I Just have this thing about dealerships and they have if forever and you get if back with some other problem or it is not fixed in worse shape. JjEjFjf I dont really know about the ebs the most it has had to work is on and off the platform of the trailer. So far the trail I have been on it are some what flat. I will know more about how the ebs sounds and works in about a week or 2. Thanks Doug

Could be clutch alignment, one way bearing fiber washer and cap washer in front clutch could be worn,or even belt could be the cause of shifting problem since its creeping. Rpms not that high, shouldn't be the problem.Remove clutch cover check if belt touches either side of front clutch and if rear clutch is turning. Rear clutch should not turn or should be able to be stopped by hand (be careful!) OPT
