x2 dump bed
I just got my used x2. I like to do a lot of research on issues to see if I can correct before it is a problem. I have seen or read that the release bar for the dump bed can shift cracking the bed when closing. This leads to the bed releasing as the plastic edges of the bed keep the bar from shifting then unlatching the bed. To fix this problem one can weld a small metal stop on the bar inside the plastic brackets that attaches the bar. I dont have a welder, so I just used small hose clamps on the inside of each bracket to keep the metal bar from shifting.
If there is a better fix please let me know. Thanks

I haven't had the problem you're describing and I've had mine for over 2000 miles since 2006. I know 1 or 2 had this problem here that I can think of. I rolled my quad on it's side and the dumpbox hit a tree. I pretty much had to replace 90% of the back plastic. I did end up rebending a piece of metal here and there but still haven't had the problem described.

I dont want my kids to be one of the ones that it happens to. I like to be proactive in addressing issues BEFORE it happens. 5 minutes and a couple bucks is well worth it. I have been examining the second seat just to make sure is wont dump while riding. I love the idea and design just want to be 100% when comes to kids safety. I think I will also add a gel pad to the seat bottom as it will add some added backrest for me then when down will elevate and add extra padding for additional rider.
