Default 2007 Polaris Ranger XP- Loud Transmission or Rear Diff

My 2007 Polaris Ranger 700 XP has a really loud roaring or whining noise in the transmission or rear end , not sure which one. It only does it when going over 15-20 miles an hour. At 30-35 miles an hour its so loud you cant stand it. I have read on other websites that the 2007 Rangers had bad transmissions and this noise was common. Does anybody know if this true or what else it could be? Could it be bad u joints? Dont they whine at higher speeds when they wear out? Any help would be appreciated. All the fluids are at their recommended levels (transmission & rear diff.)

I've had some issues with transmission whine from a couple of 700 xp's mainly from lack of maintenance or using wrong trans fluid which put a load on the bearings and gears causing the whine. Same for the rear differential. Replaced a complete rear diff recently because the customer hadn't checked it in 3 years and destroyed the ring and pinion gear. Overall the rear diff is pretty tough even if only changed every couple years or so. Hard to second guess, but would probably say trans bearing or trans gear whine rather than the rear differential. Keep us posted on the RANGER forum. OPT

Default 07 polaris ranger transmission noise

Hello, Newby here from Ga. I recently purchased an 07 700 ranger and it has a pretty loud whine @ about 30 mph. What kind of fluid should i put in the transmission and rear end to make sure thats not my problem.
If my problem is a transmission bearing, any idea how much it would cost to have it repaired?
Thanks in advance

AGL fluid for the transmission, demand drive gear fluid for the rear diff. The transmission bearings are either Russian or Chinese or a combination of both that I've found in this model. IMO the Chinese are actually better. It can as I've said above can be either a bearing or gear whine. Cost depends on it you rip it out and repair or if a dealer does! You can,if you find bearings worn, can use the universal number on the bearing and replace with a better grade of bearings at probably the same cost as oem. OPT

So is this noise just the nature of the beast or is it a problem that will cause premature failure down the road? I am curious because I am looking at buying a used 07 800 XP. Thanks in advance.
