Update on my problem:

Purchased a fuel pressure tester to check PSI. Machine was pumping out 10PSI. I understand that they are supposed to pump out 40psi +/-3. Either way I was well below that mark. So today I replaced the pump with an Airtex pump #E8198 and strainer sock #FS111. Hooked wire and line back up to pump and poured fresh gas back in the tank. Turned key on an off a few times to get some gas circulating, heard pump pulling gas which wasn't happening with old pump. Hooked up pressure tester to fuel rail and still only pushing 20psi. Took it for a spin and same problems are still occuring. Could replacing my fuel filter bring pressure up 20psi?

My wheeler, like Helmethair78's, also will not go over 30mph so that makes me wonder if my coil may also be bad. Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It never hurts to change the fuel filter. A clogged filter can cause a lot of trouble. Its easy and not too expensive. If you have 1500 miles on the original filter I would definetly change it.

Pulled fuel filter out of my 06' Sportsman 800 which runs great and put it into my 05'. Same psi output to the fuel rail. No change as when it was running with the other filter. Still stumped.

2 things I've come up with.... I'm by no means a know it all about these machines but I like to research problems to try to figure them out......I have an 05 700 EFI and I've been referring to my service manual to try to help you out.......Anyway first of all it might be the fuel pressure regulator which is in the fuel tank.....It does what it says, regulates fuel pressure and should be 39 psi. plus or minus 3 psi...If you have the service manual it's in section 4.11.....The other thing they mention is that during starting if your battery voltage drops below 7 volts a reduction in fuel pressure will occur resulting in a lean starting condition...That's in section 4.9....Hope this helps a little.....
