true, I should have been a little more clear, I just meant to clean up the metal parts of the mag. and the inside of the case

that is some pretty neat stuff, I might have to get some of that

Yes, you need to open it up and make sure all the oil is out completely and that it is dry. You don't want to burn up your magneto, or worse have the bike catch on fire. The plug is for checking/setting the timing.

OK WILL DO.. tHANKS FOR THE HELP... I GOT A LITTLE RUSHED AND READ THE MANUAL WRONG. WHICH BRINGS UP ANOTHER POINT.. WHEN I STARTED TO DO ALL THE MAINTENANCE THE FIRST THING ON THE LIST WAS TO CHANGE THE OIL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT(2 MONTHS). ANYWAY THE OIL DRAIN PLUG WAS STRIPPED OUT BEFORE I EVEN STARTED...SO THAT I COULDNT GET IT OUT... ANY BODY HAVE ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO TO GET IT OUT.

Hmmm, Might wanna start a new thread asking about the stripped drain screw. You'll get a better response. I don't have any advice for removing it.

I hesitate to ask, but do you realize that the drain plug is removed with a hex wrench and not a socket? There are no external flats on the plug, it is completely round.

I realize that it is a hex head and there are no external flat edges...unfortunately there were no internal flat edges either. I am going to try and use and easy out unless anybody has any bright ideas before friday.
