Default Oil seal question

Bringing the wheeler in for a pressure test this week to the dealer to fing the source of coolant loss and they are thinking it is the oil seal. The machine has been losing coolant and the dipstick is full. The dealer thought it may be the oil seal which would cause oil to enter the bottom half of the motor. My initial thought was head gasket and the leak test should let me know but I thought I would see if anyone else had any ideas. (2003 600 twin)

Yeah.... I would have thought head gasket too with no visible sign of a coolant leak....

It could leak coolant into the oil but the oil would look like a milk shake plus be over*full on oil. I would check for a cold water leak on the outside of the machine first then move on to engine by checking spark plug color or traces of coolant in the combustion chamber.

There is coolant in the oil, the dipstick tube is full (to the top). A little indication of leaking out the weep hole of water pump but the last time I let it run for 15 minutes and there was no evidence of external leaking but the coolant had dropped about 2 inches down from the top of the radiator.

Just talked again with the dealer and he is going to run a pressure and/or leak test tomorrow to find where they think the problem is and then let me know what they find. They even offered to have me do as much work as possible to help keep the cost down. I don't want to do the seals but if it is the head gasket I will probably do it myself or at least pull as much of the bike apart as needed so that I'm not paying them to do the easy steps.

Sounds like you got a good dealer.
Not many will work with you like that.
