Your welcome PICKER77, I still remember the Bob Villa show intro that ole Bob could work a allen wrench in 18 different ways. I really like to know the whole 18, lol
Terb, what is the JB weld stick for?
Thx,

Putting together a trail tool kit for my '09 Sportsman 500 EFI X2. For starters, I need to know if Polaris machines are 100% metric or not, and would appreciate some specific recommendations on wrench sizes to "not be caught without". I have the usual stuff under control (Warn winch kit, tire repair, electrical repair bits & pieces, tie wraps, star wrenches, multi-tip screwdriver, spare belt, etc.), plus a set of 3/8" metric sockets and a Leatherman. But I'm thinking it's a good idea to also carry a few box/open end wrenches to fill out the possibilities. Would 8, 10, 12, 14mm be sufficient, or do I need to also carry 17/19mm? I'd like to be able to bail myself out up to and including changing the clutch belt on this thing if necessary.
Spare RAD to change out when the first one gets plugged!..LOL
Or 12 volt trail-side water pump.....Comes in handy if you have room........Caper..............

A/C TRV 400 2-up Inlaws.....Will not hold that against them!!!
I Second the motion for the STICKY! (Hey Stendori can you make it happen?)
See we all learn something here, I didn't even know about the JB Weld. I could use some on my footwell tear and for Nephews Honda plastic tear. What color does it end up to be, more like a primer color?
Also, another note: QUAD ATV Magazine has excellent repair articles, sometime I buy it just for that.
Cheers,

Carrying the correct tools for the job that you are going to do in the field require hand on experience such as belt change.Find some spare time and do this at home then you will know what correct tools to carry. Practice make prefect sense. I also have a small cheap volt ohm meter from radio shack that I have used to help out others in need.
