I dont think the 400 has a connector for the battery tender. The manual for the 2009 400 HO has instructions for tricle charging. in the front trunk box you will see the solenoid (2 cables with red covers) you can attach trickle charger here per the manual.

this is what mine had. most likely it was put in by the dealer then. yes a trickle charger is roughly the same as a tender. a tender you can leave plugged in all the time.

When I was thinking of buying a 2008 Sp 300 or 400 I did notice the 400 already had the charging connector. It was inside the front storage box. Dealer said Popo installed it up front because the battery was difficult to get to. Nice job Polaris!!

I installed the connector on my Sp500 because I will use it for plowing this winter and I too want to be sure my battery is topped off. Plus I use a blinking strobe light which I'm sure sucks some juice to.

Welcome to the forum!!!!

i looked at the owners manual today and it has a place under the front box that i can charge it from. It is the wires i asked about before they are from the battery. just need to find out if i can hook up the tender there or not. i may not need to use any other wiring for it, just hook right up there with the clips. I am new at this but i am learning. Thanks to all
