I am doing a repair on my primary and secondary clutches on my 00 Magnum 325 4X4 non ebs. I am just replacing the parts that need it back to stock. I have a new blue primary spring but cannot find the secondary spring. The factory part # is 7041782, I think it is black, I'm a little color challenged. What would be a good spring to put in, the factory spring is back ordered until Dec. I need one before then.
Ditch the stock primary spring.Get an EPI pink and the Aaen blue secondary spring.

welcome to the forum. as you can see he^^^ runs a trail boss and knows his clutch springs and gives better performance. not too bad advice if your looking for better. imo
Would it change the setup much if I used the factory blue primary spring? I just ordered it, I may could send it back if it is not what I need. The bike is used just for hunting and keeping me from having to walk, a little lazy if you know what I mean. No hot rodding, hill climbing or anything. It's getting old and I just ease around on it.
i'm sure the stock springs are fine if you want to leave setting where they are. is your springs broke or lost there strenght? giessing thatthe springs that ftwflh mentioned are a stronger set up.
They are not broke, I'm sure they are weak. The clutch has never had anything done to it. I was experiencing slippage, will not pull off in high range and slips in low under load. I changed the belt with an after market belt but that did not help. So I tore the clutches down for inspection and cleaned them good. The buttons on the helix were gone, I ordered new one's, but that was all in the secondary that looked bad. It had 3 shims and I removed 2 because of belt tension was a little much. The primary looked good, I am replacing the bolts for the weights just for good measure and the bearings. I figured the springs may be weak so I would replace them also. I am also replacing the belt with the OEM belt. I ordered all the parts except the secondary spring, it was back ordered. But if the EPI pink primary spring is what I need I will pick one up, maybe I can return or sell the factory blue spring. I don't know if the Aaen secondary and the factory primary would be O.K.
All the pink spring will do is give you more rpms on topend. The secondary spring will give you more lowend and mid range. If you go with a aaen blue you may try the setting at 1*1 instead of the 2*2 and then compare it to the to the 2*2 setting. If you cant find an Aaen spring try a Polaris spring out of a 2001 400 Sportsman(not as stiff but better than the stock black)

That sounds good, I will order the Aaen blue spring, I am afraid of adding rpms, engine is getting old, may not handle it. The low and midrange is mainly what I am looking for. All I do is ease around. Thanks for all the help.
Yuo put those springs in and the rpms seem a little high let me know and we can adjust with weights(cheap on ebay) or with secondary spring tension

Yes the EPI Pink will raise top rpms. The EPI Bright green part # PATV7 will keep the top rpms closer to stock but will raise initial engagement up a few hundred rpms. The closest to the oe black secondary in EPI springs would be the PDS*6 purple secondary spring. Its a little stiffer then stock.
