Default thermo sensor

Hello
I have a 1995 polaris sportsman 400 and i need to get a thermo sensor for it, but polaris has stopped selling them... is there anyone who could tell me where to find one???
From what i can tell polaris kept changing the style of it from 93 and up so i think the one i get will have to be for a 95.
Thanks for the help!!

Do have 1/8 pipe fitting on the sensor? If you knew the OEM original resistance or ohms of the good sensor you could find one from napa.

The sensor is the one on the radiator i'm pretty sure it's part # 3084284, from what i'm being told from a few different dealers polaris doesn't stock it any more.

the pn# that i gave you and you just posted is the sensor in the engine. the pn# that tlc gave you IS the one that goes in the radaitor. that number was used form 1990 to 95' in diffeernt models. when you do check the pn# out on ronnies.com, it doesn't list a pn# or even a replacement for it. maybe as mentioned if you could find the resitance you might be able to match one up from something else w/ the same threads. good luck.

If you get a thread size then you can get a rad sensor from a auto store.

The thread sizes for my rad sensor ,Polaris 4010161. is M16x1.5. Turns out a rad sensor from a 84-88 Nissan Maxama or 86-99 Nissan stansa works.

Wells sw526
Napa FS147
Blue Streak TS-127

There opening and closing temps are a little different, the will fan kicks on a little later and off later but well within over heating safety margins. I Know a guy who has used one for 3 years now.

I,m sure you can find a alternative as well. Heck you may have the same sensor and it just has a different Polaris number due to the it having a different end wire connection only, in that case just splice your old 2 wire to the 2 wires of the new sensor.
