Default No speedo, odom or trip ???

While riding yesterday, I noticed that on my '04.5 SP 500 my speedo was not working. I also found out later in the day that my odometer, and trip meter were not working either. The fuel gauge has not worked in about 6 months, but until yesterday, everything else seemed to be fine. The tach, hour meter, AWD icon and gear selection are still working for now. Any ideas on what drives these things and how to fix them?

if i had to bet, id guess it got some moisture in it. As far as all ur other ?s there are many posts on your problem in here. From what I can gather you are on borrowed time before the rest craps out(that includes your awd) I am not sure if you bike has a speedo like my 700 had, but it partially worked , but eventually did die.

for the most part when the speedo craps out as mentioned the awd does not work so i would check it before you need it and don't have it. just a thought.

or it could be that little pick-up sensor went bad . check to make sure down on the right front rotor that the sensor isn't all crudded up ,also check the cable all the way up to the speedometer that it is not frayed . there is an easy cheap test for that but i can't remember how

I agree,If your AWD works but the speedo is losing info then the speedo is fine but the wheel sensor(Hall Effect Sensor) is bad or the wire connecting it to speedo is not connected right. Part #21 cost $45.
