I have an 08 SPortsman 800 EFI. When I first start it and want to take off it wants to spudder and backfire on me sometimes it dies. It only has about 30 hours on it. Any suggestions?
Do you let it warm up for a minute on a cold start before taking off? They can be a little finnicky sometimes. I let mine warm up for a minute and take it easy for the first few while driving to make sure everything is properly warmed up and ready for abuse.

efi... shouldnt need a warm up atleast mine doesnt. any codes show when you turn the key 3 times in 5 seconds? ive read some chaffing wires at the tps sensor cause some of these symptoms.
But anyway, mine was doing similar things after a little water riding, or a good washing, and I blew out and die electric greased up my spark plugs, and put a fair amount in the plug boots, I did it, and after several rides, I put a little more in it, and it's been good for a long time
I forgot about adjusting the slack about 1/16" in the throttle cable, this can be adjust on the cable about half way down the cable between the throttle and the pod
Would new spark plugs help this? I have changed them before in a 2006 model and its a pain in the rear end. So I have been dreading changing plugs. The ATV and plugs are only a year old.
