850XP after a 363 mile ride.

My buddy with the 09 SP800 ran out of fuel about 3 miles from the gas station & had to use his fuelpack. I had over a gallon left in mine when I got to the station

Thats to be expected the 800 has a dinky little 4.1 gal tank while the XP has a 5.25 gal tank. 2009 Polaris Sportsman® 800 EFI ATVs

Wow 360 miles on one trip it takes me a entire season to do that.

Looks like a really good trip, as one guy commented "I'm envious" Your pictures I highly enjoyed and they say a lot. Can you tell me which rear box you have (part number/model number) on your 850XP? My local Polaris only carries one type and I am only able to find that same box in Polaris's Catalog which I do not want. Your box is more square looking providing more space. Can you please give me the details. I am assuming that the backrest seat is optional.

The box I have is from my old SP800. It also fits on the XP even though pure polaris says it doesn't. The backrest is optional. About $100 extra retail and worth every penny + +. Here is the link. Pure Polaris : Lock & Ride? Rear Cargo Rack Box)

They also make a box for just for the XP. It is larger in size.

Thanks for the quick reply, wow! You made my day, now that I know that it will fit the 850XP At least I have an option. I didn't care for the only other type of box Polaris has marketed for the 850XP. I feel the angle of lid opening is very limiting for bigger items such as a chain saw & small toolbox etc...
