Unhappy starting problem

Hi all, Last weekend while trail riding I noticed my '03 600 was getting touchy to start. When I hit the key nothing would happen for a second or two then it started fine. Today I changed oil and went to start it and nothing! Checked all connections at battery, starter etc. If you hold the key in the start position, there is no clicking or anything. I tried wiggling connections but still nothing. I finally got it to start once just to check for leaks. I'm thinking ignition switch?? starter?? soleniod?? I've got around 1,600 mi. on it. Any ideas?? Thanks for replies.
