Default 550 xp tire size and clutch

just bought a 2009 550 xp don't like tires would like to go bigger with out a lot of lift or none at all want to know the best size and do i need a clutch kit and how would it affect the performance? if i do need a lift how big and where to find it. thanks

Congrats on your purchase. Hope your happy with it so far.
As far as needing a lift, I dont know...depends on how big of tires you want. I seen a thread on here not too long ago with someone with 27" XTRs on stock rims. A minor swaybar bend was needed with the stock rims, was told you dont have to bend the swaybar if aftermarket rims are used.
You'll want a clutch kit if you want to keep the stock performance you have now (acceleration). Highlifter has some nice ATV performance items you may want to check out.

I did some testing with a 09 550 with 27" Mud Lite XTRs on ITP SS rims. Didn't have any fitment issues. I would definitly suggest getting a clutch kit though to help with performance. No lift was needed.

thanks for the inpt one thing was fitment issues with stock rims i heard that a sway bar bend was needed
