Default dynajet kit question

Hello, anyone have any info on these kits? I bought the stage one kit for my 2005 sp 700 and according to the directions you have to drill the mixture screw? Do you really have to drill into the mixture screw?

You drill a hole in the plastic plug that covers the mixture screw.
Use the supplied sheet metal screw to pull out the plug.
With the plug removed, you can now adjust (richen) the mixture, resulting in easier starts, smoother running and improved throttle response.

Installed kit on my 04 600 & found it runs a little rich at idle. Goin to turn mixture screw in a 1/4 turn & see how it runs.
