Default 2000 Sportsmans part identification

Does anyone know what the part is that is left of the starter solenoid and battery on a Sportsman 500? I thought it may be the voltage regulator but a wiring diagram says it is up towards the front. It makes a clicking noise when you turn the power on.

If you are talking about the plastic pouch, its the thermal fuse (circuit breaker by another name) inside that sends power to the front of the machine. It resets itself if a short happens, plus they are known to go out because of corrosion and heat. Shouldn't make a loud noise, but if working ok,wouldn't worry about it. IF you are worried you can slit the pouch and see if fuse is showing corrosion and could be time to replace before it goes out. I've replaced a few over the years, plus under the front panel depending on model is a couple more.
