I ran my Jeep Wrangler without a thermostat for almost 3 years and never overheated. Offrroading for hours on end in low gear never made it overheat. There's not a chance in hell that it will overheat without a thermostat. Unless your radiator is caked with mud, then you'd have a problem with or without a stat.
