Default 01 Sportsman 500 pulls to the right

My 01 500 sportsman pulls to the right occasionally, especially when switching out of 4x4. I pulled both hubs apart. Can find nothing wrong with anything. Bearings, plates, locker mechanisms etc. all seem fine. Could it simply be needing a fluid change? Is it really sensitive to tire pressure? I have a leaker and it gets low sometimes. Is there anything in the front diff that might cause this?

Probably armature plate magnetized causing one side to keep engaged, best to replace both plates as the other side will eventually do the same and torque hub nuts to 12 foot pounds. Clean area up and see if hub or strut seal leaking and replace. I usually replace both since I'm in this deep already! Good luck OPT

1) loosen hub nuts then re-torque to spec...

2) drain, then refill both hubs with Polaris Demand Hub Fluid as per Polaris recommendations in their service manual...

The condition you describe is characteristic of the earlier (non central) demand hubs... My 02 400 Sportsman does it often and predictably so...

Just switch to reverse or forward and move a few feet after switching AWD off... this will help correct the problem...

don't spend money unnecessarily until you addressed #1 and #2 above... these will only help minimize the condition but WILL NOT elliminate the condition... tj400
