I am getting front Polaris Brand Heavy Duty front springs.Is this a good idea or not? I have a plow and it really squats with it up. I am also wondering if it will handle better on rocks and stuff and if ya go over like a whoopty doo like a small jump thing will it land hard in front like with stock springs? Last of all will it ride harder?? Thanks, Polaris Man With Issues

1.No, I wouldn't do it
2.No, the springs won't compress as much, and the overall ride will be worse

Overall, I know what your sayin about the plow, and my and several others have remedies that problem by using metal spring spacers, this just picks up the slack from the saggy front springs, theses spacers are put under the bottom of the springs to raise them up without making the ride rough,

If you want I can get some specifics, and some pics, I think they are 2" tall, and it's 2" pipe, but I can't remember

Ditto. Unless you are running with a ton of gear packed you are better off going with the spacers. They are available from Polaris for like $20. The hd springs will compromise performance and make for a stiffer ride. I load my 800 up and use it for plowing all Winter and have never had a need for the stiffer springs.

I got the Polaris HD Springs this spring and think it will make a huge difference with the plow and sage but do notice the slightly harsher ride which I don't mind but definitely less droop on hard braking/cornering or downhill. Steering is also tougher but overall I like the changes and it adds a couple of inches of ground clearance upfront as well. I have a 2008 800 Touring so probably a fair bit of extra weight compared to the 500.

I put HD spring in mine....now it rides harsh

I put Hilihter springs on the front of my 2002 500HO and the ride and handling is terrible!! Thing pushes like crazy in the corners and rides like a wagon!! Mine are coming off and and spacers from Rubberdown are going on with the factory springs.

I just ordered a set of front spting pregressor's from T2 (tm2) so I can adjust the preload on the front. will let you know how they work as soon as I get them on.

That seems to be the best ideal situation to adjust as needed. I wonder if you can use this pregressor on the HD? lol..lol Well I have it on mine and its a real noticable diff in the front by 2". I can't say which is better but I can tell ya it seems EASIER to steer but it seems like it doesn't cut the tighter turns as well. Does that make sense?

As for the utility when I connect my plow the front barley went down at all. I would CAUTION to any if you raise the front whether it be with SPRINGS or SPACERS please please compensate for the rear. My front is high then my rear suspension so I raised the rear shocks to its highest setting its now better but I would like to get better rear shocks.

I put the Polaris HD springs on my X2's front end because it squatted alot between my 350 lbs. and the weight of the quad. The X2 is rated for 400 lbs. in the rear so the front springs were really noticeable. Like Rtick the front end is a little higher now than than the rear but for me the ride is tons better without the bottoming out going downhill.
